Shareware Preserves These are extremely rare MS-DOS programs and games that need some attention. Currently, no other websites contain these programs, and most of them are surprisingly well-done. The programs on this page were obsoleted by better updated versions, forgotten, abandoned, or just need some better attention. So here they are: 3D House This was a 3D Virtual Reality program which was a simulation of the Carr's new house. Have fun exploring the place! Created using the DoMark 3D Construction Kit*. Author: Charles Carr 3D Trek Another game created with the 3D Construction kit. Loosely based on the hit series, "Star Trek"(Duh). The Starship Enterprise is in self-destruct mode, and you have to escape within 1000 seconds. Author: Unknown Download 3D Trek 3D World Those who liked "3D House" virtual reality will love this: A set of virtual reality objects including vehichles, places, animals, toys, and more. Here's a list of some of the areas on this program: 1. Train 2. Barn 3. Airplanes 4. Church 5. Apatasaurus 6. Elephant 7. Frog 8. City 9. The White House 10. Swimming Pool 11. Action Figure 12. Sunset with Ship 13. Ancient Greece 14. Toy Box (The Box Contains a Teddy Bear and a Tin Soldier) 14. Solar System Author: Charles Carr Chagunitzu Chagunitzu is a strategy game first featured in "Big Blue Disk #44". I haven't taken the time to play the entire thing, but it is the preducessor to Apogee's "Pagantizu" game, and also has a very similar style. It will run under either CGA or EGA graphics, and has no sound. Author: Softdisk Download Chagunitzu Commander Keen: Episode X Commander Keen, Episode 7 (X) is a good attempt to continue the classic series of computer games by ID and Apogee Software (Now 3D Realms), which was later cancelled due to the popularization of the First Person Shooter, with games like Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM, Blake Stone, Hexen, and others. While the game is merely a modification of Episode 1, the graphics are improved, and it retains the feel of the 7 other Keen games that exist. An Episode Y does exist, but it is full of bugs and I do not recommend it right now. But for you wailing Commander Keen fans, THIS is the game you've been searching for. The Universe IS Toast! Author: Xky Rauh Download Commander Keen X Galactic Battle This game originally featured in "Big Blue Disk Issue #39". You control a space ship and blast alien ships apart. After every ten levels, you fight a boss. What made me laugh about this game is the fact that many "aliens" in the game looked like bricks, stoplights, televisons, video game controllers, eyeballs, false teeth, pizza boxes, caterpillars, and a lot of other weird stuff. Also, the game has a neat RPG aspect where every 5 levels, you can buy enhancements for your ship. A very addictive game! Author: Softdisk Download Galactic Battle Galaxy Word Processor This is probably only useful for historical purposes, but this is one of the first shareware Word Processors. Author: Omniverse Software Download Galaxy VGA Sharks VGA Sharks is a game where you control a scuba diver. He must explore places like the golden gates of ancient greece and rescue the small sea animals and bring them to his cage, while avoiding nasty foes like Sharks, Stingrays, and Mutant Jellyfish. In 1994, Alive Software replaced this game with a sidescroller called, "ScubaMan's Quest". Author: Alive Software Download VGA Sharks (EGA/CGA version also provided with download) PC Jigsaw Puzzle Another game abandoned by Alive Software, in PC Jigsaw Puzzle, you basically peice together several puzzles using 24-color hi-resolution EGA Graphics. Was replaced by "VGA Jigsaw" in the 1990s. Author: Alive Software Download PC Jigsaw Slan Slan is another ANSI-Adventure style game similar to "The Kingdom of Kroz" or "ZZT". You can move your smiley-face around forests, castles, and caverns and find your way around different mazes. Slan includes an ANSI level-editor. Author: Jean-Guy Lavallee Download Slan
